Transactional

I see how you operate

Trying to be the nice guy
Only to show your true face
And only see others as
Stepping stones for your
Own success, abandoning
What it truly means to
Be a good friend

The traumatic response for you
Is being a people pleaser, but
Then you became a manipulator

You don’t look at human beings
As those with souls and feelings

And your emotions exist in a vacuum
Within your own decrepit heart and
Your deceitful brain exists within
A hermetically sealed plastic

Transparent in your machinations
To get ahead in life, yet opaque
In any kind of sentiment whatsoever

Every relationship you have is
Purely transactional, and I will
No longer partake in jeopardizing
My own conscience to entertain
Your constant ingratiation to those
Who frankly are more soulful in their
Words and don’t just offer boilerplate
Sentiment after fits of rage and bitterness

In essence, I must banish you from my life

You don’t know the meaning of friendship
Abstract noun you break against concrete

I know the sequences, they are not random
I see through you, even in the darkness
And damned if I can forgive your spite
And malice, for you are clearly too
Cowardly to admit to your errors
And will clearly walk over anybody

You will never get the support you got
From me all these years from somebody
Else, and God help anybody who
Sees you for the sycophant you are
