Sealey Challenge #21
I’d really be remiss if I didn’t include George Guida in this challenge. He was my creative writing professor at my alma mater, New York City College of Technology (City Tech). As a fledgling poet back in 2004, I submitted a poem to the City Tech Literary Arts Festival. I was gleeful that he and the other judges saw potential in my writing and won first place in poetry. That year, I also won second place for a one act play and a short story. I hold a lot of reverence to this man and I am fortunate that we are both in the NYC poetry scene.
